Hi, I currently want to view my labtop on an external monitor. Is there something I can do to turn off the labtops monitor and only view it through the external monitor? So far I have only been able to get the background onto the external monitor, but it won't show any icons or movement with mouse/etc. I have an asus a6ne. Thx.

What way are you using to use the monitor? The S-Video port? I would also like to try that aswell.

Whynot just shut the laptop lid if you don't want to see it?

    1. You may need to set the external display to be the primary display in the display properties (note that the configuration options may only be available once the external display is recognised).

    2. One of the function keys (Fn+F8 on my W3A) allows you to step through the options for use of the internal and external displays.

    Hope this helps,
