Hey can someone tell me where in the manual to look for instructions on how to set up and use the wireless mouse??

I can not seem to find out where it explains anything about this mouse that came with my w3v

and if i just plug in the usb thing and press "connect" on it and on the mouse it doesn't work.

Is there settings on the laptop somewhere I need to change before it will allow the wireless mouse to work?

The computer sees that mouse as a usb device. You need to hit connect on the reciever and the mouse and that's about it... if you're still having problems, there isn't much that can be explained in words beyond that.

Here is what I did, and have been doing.

1 Plug in the usb thing

    2. turn on the mouse from the bottom

    3. hit connect on the usb thingg

    4. hit connect on the mouse

    5. try to move the mouse around

    -curser fails to move-

hit connect a few more times

try to move the mouse around, curser still doesnt move

Disable touchpad and try the wireless mouse all over again

    still doesn't work.

Oh and btw, I have this mouse that does have a wire and when I plug it in there is a red light on the bottom that turns on. On this logitech mouse i see something similar to that on the bottom but when I turn on the mouse no light appears, I'm thinking maybe the mouse is broken. No wonder it didn't work the first day I got my laptop

Did you put two AA sized batteries in the Logitech mouse? The red light on the bottom should come on whenever it senses movement, irrespective of having a connection with the computer. If batteries are in there then try some new ones.

LOL, I love it. I hope that is the problem - and if it was, you'd better fess up to us!

Otherwise, find a buddy with a wireless mouse and see if his works on your lappy. If it does, you have a defective mouse. If not, well, let's just hope that isn't the case.

Hmm... you said you saw the Red LED turn on. I thought the battery was installed. Now you found out it's not?

    ??

"I have this mouse that does have a wire and when I plug it in there is a red light "

I was reffering to another mouse I have which has a wire attached to it. When I plug that one in a red light comes on. I noticed on the wireless logitech mouse no light was coming on and thought maybe it was broke.

But as it turns out I have no batteries in it.

Hey, its my first wireless mouse, I didnt know.

    Yes, I believe it's possible.

And that whole Core Duo/USB problem has been addressed I believe... or shouldn't be an issue.
