Does anyone know a place in Chicago where they sell these notebooks. From all the reviews I've read, they all seem to be great laptops, but before i spend 1500-2000$, i would like to actually see the laptop first. Also, if anyone has there opinions about which one is better, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
    Just to complicate things:
I'm also considering either the Sony SZ series, the Dell XPS m1330, the Dell 1420, and the HP dv2500t. All of them configured with 2gb of ram, 160gb HHD, a T7500 processor, and the best graphics card offered. The dell 1420 and the HP dv2500t are a bit more in my price range, but I'd rather spend a bit more and get the cooler SZ, XPS, or one of the Asus V1, V2, or F8. So many options what to do?????
Also i know the Asus's come with 1 year accidental warranty. If anyone has opinions about which manufacturer has the better warranties (between Sony, HP, Dell, and Asus)

    Wow!

Well I'll give you what I know.

V1S: some like it and say the build quality is great. Some hate the build quality and say it has a lot of flex. Nothing wrong with the features there, everything you need, it has it. There are some battery issues but hopefully nothing serious to worry about.

V2S: it looks like a bland notebook, without many significant things to offer, besides being smaller than the V1S. The build is not so great (but still good), there's no multibay.

F8: I don't know much about it, looked good from the pictures. It's a budget notebook though, so supposedly the build quality is worse than for the first two options. But even then, ASUS budget notebooks are usually well built.

Warranty: ASUS has a good international pickupandreturn 2year warranty. I don't know much about the rest.

Out of the options above (including the ASUS-es) I would actually go for the m1330... it's very very good-looking, the support & warranty for the XPS series seem to be great, and it has good features and a good build quality: brushed aluminum palmrest-- you can't beat that! I have a V6J, so I know... :)

Shouldn't both the v1 + v2 have the same or similar builds?
After all, they're almost the same notebook w/diff screens n vid memory...
