I have been playing around with RMClock 2.25, and undervolting the CPU for both battery and on AC.

    Here are my RMClock Settings:

The voltages were all 1.2 originally, so I changed them.

The thing is that the temps while on battery and on AC did not drop, nor did my battery life increase.

I am curious as to what others have done in terms of undervolting their laptop, and their Merom (C2D) processor.

If anyone can give some suggestions please do.

Just to let you know NHC would not allow me to undervolt, and RMClock is a pretty nice programs, a lot of features and great functionality.

    Thanks,

    6x: 0.950V
    7x: 0.950V
    8x: 0.950V
    9x: 0.950V
    10x: 0.950V
    11x: 0.950V
    12x: 1.037V (stable at 1.025V with dual Prime95 and 3D app running)

These are the same settings I used with the last version of RMClock. Temperatures are lower for me when undervolting.

As for throttle while on battery, I have it set to 50%. I can't remember what the default P4G settings were.

undervolting does not always reduce battery life. when i did a review of the p1 UX, there was no change in battery life for me when i undervolted. mostly, it just reduced heat production and fan noise.

    Core 2 Duo T7200.
I put 6.0X as 0.95v and the highest at 1.175v. Battery life did not increase much though (by only 10+ minutes). Even though heat output is controlled at a peak of 40.5 degrees c, the fan would not stop running :( (mines an Asus A8)

I saw a large increase in battery life (~30 mins, IIRC) and a 10C drop in CPU temps at idle and at load undervolting my P-M...

Also recently undervolted a desktop system and saved 25W at idle and 40W at load by dropping from 1.35V/1.1V to 0.950V/0.800V.
