Anyone know if we can expect the V1S to support HDMI 1.3? Or is it so that the HDMI-version can be software-updated anyway?

I'm not sure which version does it have but you can connect ur laptop to your hdtv with HDCP certified cable.

By using Nvidia control you can configure an out put to your HDTV. it'll take some time to configure and explore the new menu gui of Nvidia.

Its very intresting what kind of HDMI has V1s. Maybe some owners of v1s could somehow find this out? Here you can find all information about HDMI.
It would be great if V1s supports at least HDMI 1.2(HDMI 1.1 doesnt support multichannel audio)

    Thanks!

    Sorry for my English

It would be really nice to know the exact HDMI version The ASUS V1S has. Anyone has checked it? It was one of the main reasons to choose this laptop against others wich don't have HDMI.

I don't know how to do it neither, when I have mine I'll investigate but I hope it will be the 1.3 because I read sometime ago that 1.3 comes with great improvement against prior versions

accordin to the information from wikipedia, Different versions of HDMI has different Maximum signal bandwidth, for example. So if anyone could check this Maximum signal bandwidth, and if it would be 340MHz - it mean that we have HDMI 1.3

We can check TMDS bandwidth or Maximum video bandwidth.
Or if anyone have FUllHD TV witch supports 2560x1600p resolution it would bw easy to check - only HDMI 1.3 supports 2560x1600p

IMHO thats the way to find out the "truth" about HDMI on V1S :)

    From ASUS FAQ:

    please refer to attachment .
    HDMI
    models version
    A7K 1.2
    A7Sv 1.2
    C90S 1.3
    F7Sr 1.3
    F7Kr 1.3
    F9E 1.2
    F9S 1.3
    G1S 1.2
    G2K 1.2
    G2S 1.2
    U3S 1.3
    V1S 1.2
    VX2S 1.2
    W2W 1.2

So finally we DO KNOW that Asus V1s has 1.2 HDMI version not 1.3...so dissapointing!
