:) Got my V1S-1B 2 weeks ago but still not in production yet. Don’t get me wrong, V1S is working fine, just not sure which O/S should I use.
Some background first:: I upgrade V1S to 4GB using Kinsington memory and move 160GB HD to 2nd Module HDD then replace with Hitachi 200GB 7200rpm 16mb cache HD.

1>Vista Business x86 :: Work just like it promise but only read 3GB memory.

2>Vista Enterprise x64 :: Boot up slow but after all the drivers installed it work smoothly. Thank to Asus they put all the x64 drivers in CD but just have to install one by one.

3>Windows 2003R2 :: A lot faster and stable than Vista x64/x86. ( my choice OS for Laptop for performance if can’t make 2008server work with all devices)

4>Windows 2008 server RC0 :: WOW, much better and cleaner than Vista. Like it a lot. But for some reason BLUE SCREEN about usbport.sys. I use all the drivers from Vista x64 and most of them work beside IR and Bluetooth. Still fighting with it now.

Just wondering if any of you have any experience on V1S with Windows 2008 Server RC0 or not.

    onlyu,

I'm currently running Server 2008 on my current laptop without any issues (it is much better than Vista!) and since I'm planning on buying this laptop I was hoping you had figured this issue out. Can you add some more information regarding when this happening (ie During Boot, adding USB device etc)

    Thank you

    to cipher7,

Sorry i have no time to debug or do more test on V1S with 2008 x64 now. Will wait until it's official release then try again.

I did experience this after I first installed either the WebCam or Fingerprint driver. Specifically, it would only happen when I opened Computer Managment-Devices.

I reinstslled the OS, without these two drivers, and have been running without any issues for the past month. I'll be reinstalling after the RTM version comes out in Feb and I imagine this will no longer be an issue.
