Hi folks, I have a V1s and ive tried both the latest drivers from realtek and Asus, But for some reason when I plug in my HDMI cable into my laptop and my Plasma TV, I dont get any sound, I have right clicked in the tray and selected HDMI audio output and I get nothing, I know this works when I plug in a ToSlink cable into the headphone jack so im wondering if HDMI audio isnt even supported?(Which would seem pretty bloody stupid given the sound output option is marked "HDMI"). Can anyone verify?.

Did you set the HDMI audio output as default? Also try restarting your notebook after that.

Yes, I had done both those things, to no effect.

Tried testing it on the living room TV, Still now sound, Its definitely a problem with the laptop

I remember someone said that the HDMI works on V1S for audio. I can tell you V1J doesn't (they call it uDVI or microDVI). From the looks of this link here, it should work (but not necessarily in 7.1):

Then there's this link about HDMI audio problems with other laptops and how they fixed it:

They just say what has already been said here. I spoke to Asus Tech support, Apparently there is a fix for it that they will email me, There should be three output options, and I only have two.
