Your complaint is pretty baseless, since Asus never actually said the V2S in the US would have the 9-cell battery as well. You're going by what the V2J had, along with a spec sheet from Asus that lists all possible configurations all over the world.

I'd send them an email asking if they'll sell the 9-cell battery separately.

ASUS N.A. never stated the two batteries, ASUS's global site did, and their configuration worldwide is usually different in different regions.

The V1s and V2s had a major price drop compared to the early V1jp and V2je releases, perhaps the battery among other things provided that price cut.

Who would you email anyway? I wanted to contact Asus NA before, but couldn't find an email address. :(

Geared2Play offers the 9-cell as an extra on their V2s preorder page, and Asus lists it in their specifications. What do you mean?

I just checked the G2P forum this morning, and they listed the 6-cell battery with no mention of the 9-cell. Asus' global specifications list the V2S as having a 9-cell, which means that some region of the world will have it. I believe it's basically confirmed that North America will only have the 6-cell standard, with the 9-cell potentially available separately.

9 cell is already available separately.

If you checked BTOTech's preorder page, it lets you choose it as an addition. The price is a real killer though.

    $160 for a battery? Yeah that's a bit steep...

This is why you shouldn't put too much faith in early pre-orders.
