Hello all, I'm from the Dell section and I'm really starting to get ticked off with the amount of delays for my replacement and just on the verge on returning. I prolly wont' wait any longer. I'm looking at V2s and it seems to fit my expectations there are a few questions though...

    1) is it LED backlit?
    2) What is the cost?
    3) Where can I get it in Canada -> Ontario -> Toronto to be more specific?

    Thanks for your time.

    1) No LED Backlight
    2) $1999 CAD
    3) We are located in Markham

If you have any more questions regarding the V2S have a look through the V2s lounge. FYI it is not yet available, but pre-order is.

What was wrong with your XPS? Argh, just when I was still looking towards it as a possible alternative! What worries me also as well now, Asus took out a full page back ad on the last page of the Toronto Star (I think Section A) yesterday, but no where in sight was there any mention of the V2S, whereas before a rep told me to look for one back in July. But that person seemed confused about what the V2S was in the first place so take from that what you will.

CPU Whine really and other poor built issues. If you look at Dell forum, there's a CPU whine thread which has already 10k views. This tells you how many people are concerned about this. There's also another thread which has a poll for people to report most common issues with built quality (eg: buttons not working, messed up screens, CPU Whine.etc). nearly 50% of all orders (and the polle has over 100 voters already) are reported with this CPU whine and this brings huge concerns over the XPS line. Another issue is the "backorder" which dell has been telling us stories about how soon this problem will be solved but starting as soon as June (when M1330 released) backordering has always been a problem. The issue did not improve until the started "ramping up" production line which was during early august. However, having production "up rammped", it again is facing "backorders" and I just can't believe that after they've got it going they're back on square one again.
