    Hi Folks,

I was wondering if anyone was using their V6 with external projectors that only support resolution up to 1280x1024.

When I set my V6 to 1280x1024 I get a black box around, 1024x768 works fine but quality of my presentations isn’t the best and of course 800x600 is the worst. What resolution do you set your V6 in cases like this ? Do you settle down for 1024x768 ? Thanks,

    dlogic

Well... are you looking to set up a dual view or a clone view? You can set up the V6 at one res and the projector as another...... I'd set the projector for whatever it can take, though they are usually 800 x 600 unless you've got a really expensive one...... if you do a clone view and set your v6's screen to 800x600 then the v6 itself will look horrible........ if you told me exactly how you want it set up and what you're doing I know I can help.

It’s for clone view but actually I don’t even need to see it on my laptop as it’s for the client's presentation and it’s on the wall right in front of me. When I set it to clone view in 800x600, both projector and V6 look crappy (although I expected the lcd to look bad). Should the projector’s screen look good in this resolution ? In 1024x768 looks a bit better (on the projector) but still not as good as I would like it to be. Does it actually help to switch off the lcd when using projector, as the graphic card doesn’t need to split resources ? Or am I doing something wrong ? Thanks.

    PS
I also don’t understand why V6’s native resolution is 1400x1050 (which is great by the way !!) ? Why isn’t it proportionally higher step from 1028x1024 as V6’s screen is not wide screen.

I would suggest that you set the display output to the native resolution of the projector so that gives its best quality without any remapping. If this resolution is less than the V6's then you will not fill the whole of the V6's display unless you temporarily change the display resolution. Either way you will get either a smaller or a degraded image on your screen but the projected images will be as good as you can get.

You should know your presentation and having it on the notebook screen is just to remind you where you are, so the quality is not important.

That's what SXGA+ is.. I'd think the pixels couldn't be square.. so more horizontal pixels could give it better viewing angles from side to side and less pixels vertically could give it the worse angles up and down... but this isn't something I've really looked into.... I don't know what the projector takes, but pump that up as high as it'll go
