    Hi,

I'm just about to order the V6 (which now comes with 1 stick of 512MB) and I have a sticks of ram at work (Kingston 512MB DDR2-400 KVR400D2S3/512 ). Can mix match this memory with the default memory or is better to order V6 together with an extra stick? I heard that mixing different brand memory modules can sometime produce unstable results. Also, what brand is the default memory that come with V6 ? Thanks a lot,

    Mike

You should be fine with that.. it'll still run in dual channel mode.

Nanya RAM is what Asus' uses most of the time... That's what's in the V6v

    Thanks,

No, Nanya is the a RAM module maker who also makes their own sticks.

I just looked in my W3 and those RAM modules are Hynix.....

The one thing that Asus bids out on a monthly basis is RAM... like anyone other major computer computer.... So what you have might not be what someone else has and so on.

Kingston uses Nanya in some modules...... I've seen panasonic in their microdimms... it all depends.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Yeah, thats the ram chip itself...... Kingston doesn't make their own ram chips, them make the boards and sell them.......... They use Nanya ram 70% of the time I'd bet.

    Thanks,
