I really like the size of the V6, but I'm concerned about dirt from the palms of my hands clogging up the speaker holes. Why on Earth did they put the speakers there?!?!?!?!?! Also how strong is the screen panel? Thanks.

I couldnt see how lots of dirt would get in the holes. Asus wouldnt make the speakers there if that was a potential problem. Why do your hands have dirt all over them?
As for the speaker panel I couldnt say for sure but the V6J is one of the most solidly built asus notebooks. As a result, the lcd panel should also be top notch. -
I have had my V6Va for about a week and a half now and I can tell you that the speakers are, in my opinion, in a good location. I cannot imagine them collecting dirt and stuff, unless your hands are covered in mud and you are using the computer. Also, the location is EXCELLENT in the sense that the sound quality is top notch. The sound is displayed up towards the user's head (where your listening devices are
) instead of into your stomach, like on a lot of other lappys.
Hope this helps!

Yea, I don't mind it, the speakers are AWESOME. One of the best laptop speakers I've seen and heard. They are very very loud at maximum, a few notches higher then the Z70va at max.
To clean, I have a brush, so I just lightly brush it, thrn give it a good rub with some water and a micrfibre cloth. -

... because with the footprint of the V6 with the regular ratio display..... your palms should sit above the speakers..... not on them... that same sort of palmrest was s****ped on the W3 because of your concern.. because your palm would be right on top of them... Now if you have big hands, that's another issue, but I wouldn't sweat it.... no pun intended.
