    How do you open the computer, to install a new simm of ram?

    Turn the computer over and remove the panel that has the windows seal on it. You'll need to remove about six screws to do so. Once you do that it will be pretty obvious where the RAM goes.

    Depending on when you bought the computer, there will either be one stick of 1GB ram in there, or there might be two sticks of 512MB ram. If the latter, then you'll need to buy two sticks of 1GB ram in order to bring the machine up to 2GB total, which I assume is your intention.
