V6J Battery not charging!?

I've been using my v6j without batteries for two weeks and today when i plugged the battery back, the laptop would not boot. So i hooked the laptop to the a/c to charge the battery and after a few hours, i noticed that the charging led was still on. I unplugged the laptop from the a/c and tried to boot from the battery, but it would still not boot. Weird. I plugged it back to the a/c and it boot just fine, but when i remove the a/c it just switches off as if there was no battery. I ran mobmeter to check the battery. Mobmeter reports that the wear level is 5% with still plenty of juice left (98% charge) I see it trying to charge the battery at 16.5V and charge rate 360mW, but the charge capacity does not change. I cleaned the contacts, ran the batt calibration, but still it wont boot nor charge the battery. Any ideas what's wrong? is it the motherboard or the battery?

 

What was the charge level when you stored it at the beginning of the two weeks?

 

I think the only way you are going to find out, is to try another battery.

easier said than done somtimes i know.

Charge level was 100%. Unfortunately i dont have another battery on hand
