After a while comparing suitable notebooks I still haven't decided which notebook to take. The design and build quality made me chose ASUS.

I was almost convinced to buy the W2J, especially because of its design, specs and 17'' screen. However, its size made me reconsidering whether I should buy it or not, as it isn't very mobile.

The V6J seems a perfect choice as well, its design is beautiful, it's easy to travel with, except... the graphic card.

I am definitely willing to buy a high-end notebook, but the Geforce 7400 can't be labelled as high-end.

Of course I have read many sources, but can't find the answer to my question. Isn't there an ASUS 15'' alternatieve (with a good screen res.) to consider instead of the W2J?

    Thanks!

I might have found the answer myself, the W1J, unfortunately haven't been able to find much information about it yet.

Furthermore, could someone explain me who to use the search engine? When I search for W1J, the search engine tells me the word is too short, when I search for ASUS and W1J or ASUS W1J it finds all threads with the word ASUS in it.

Just received information about tje W1J from someone who visited CEBIT 2006.

-The W1J its final design has not been shown yet, however, the aluminium case will most likely be replaced by the Carbon-Fibre-Design.

    - PowerPlay will be available, in contrast to previous announcements

Are you in the US? If so, you might as well stop looking at the W1j because it's chances of coming here are down under 10% at this point. The US market can't handle the W1 and W2 at the same time. Asus needs a 15.4" model in the lineup and as long as they can get it out by the middle of August, the V1j is going to fill that void....... if they can't get it out by then... then you can expect a limited edition W1j in late July.... but don't count on it. With the first official showing of the V1j at CeBit, it looks like it's on time.

I don't suppose if you bought in the European market it would work too well in the US Market. Not sure though.
