... well it's not really a complete conversion, but at least I found someone who manage to change the lid of a V6J. Yes, it fits. Note that there is no "automobili lamborghini" etched on the palmrest and the absence of a darker brushed aluminum finish (V6J).

    Enjoy.

Yeah, amazing it fits, isn't it? I mean it's the same notebook... We still have a handful of these lids, but they're expensive.... they were hand finished at lamborghini and come in a nice soft cloth envelope.

On a side note, the plam rests on both are the same color... it just looks different in pictures........ visually the only difference is as you said, the lambo logo on the top of the palmrest, but I can't image anyone that couldn't live with that. ;)

    Same colour? I'm shocked.

Just out of curiosity, how much do these lids cost? I might try to do this once my V6V is out of warranty....

    Thanks.

    You're looking at like $200.

It's not the most difficult thing to do, but it's certainly not just pop off and pop on. You need to take off the screen bezel, then remove the screen which is physically attached to the lid...... then remove the wifi antennas... hinges, etc. It's about an hour job for someone that's never even attemped something like this before. The end result though is the look of a system that is currently $800-900 more than your system was when it was new - 1 1/2 - 2 years ago... So, it's a nice change for someone looking for something different. Even V6j owners can make their systems better then the Lambo by going with a 7200rpm drive and tweaking the gpu themselves... With the Vx1 you simply get a 1 year ZBD LCD warranty, a limited edition serial number, and a nicer Lambo designed luggage type bag.
