    Hi there,

Does some kind soul out there have a copy of the old v0801a BIOS for the V6V? I've given up hope on ASUS ever revising the finger-scorching v1201 or giving their users some type of meaningful fan control.

I would be much obliged if someone could mail it to me at [email protected] or post it here -- many, many thanks!

I've upgraded it many months ago and i've found that the notebook was hotter than usual.
Now I've searched on internet for news about this problem and I've found that the problem is from the bios... I've tried with NHC and the best that I could do was worst than the temperature that I had with the old bios. For work I use this notebook also on my laps so... I would be very happy to feel the notebook bottom a bit colder :)

Thanks again for all your help!

Hey i have a v6v and was also worried about this however i am not now.

To cool down your v6v remove the fan inside the computer there should be a solid cake of dust between here and the heat sink, remove it.

now your v6v should run cool once again

i noticed temperature change of about 20C
