I just found out that my V6Va screen has one grey dead pixel. According to Asus ZBD policy on this screen, it qualifies as a bright dot.

I called ASus and get a return instruction etc. However, I am trying to decide what to do and need some opinion.

The screen is virtually perfect except for this one dot that showed up yesterday. I tried the dead pixel fixer video thing last night but it doesn't work. The dot is grey in the lower left corner, honestly it doesn't really bother me much. I cannot even see it unless I am looking for it.

The ZBD policy also stated that I can only have one exchange. What if the new screen also has a bright pixel, maybe one even worse that this one.
The other thing is, it's hard for me to loose this computer even for few days. I need it everyday for my job and school.

Do I take a chance and get a replacement screen, or just forget about it and live with one dead pixel? Help me out.

If it doesn't bother you, don't replace it - dead/stuck pixels can develop in time, and you may want to wait it out until it gets closer to your warranty expiration.

It sounds like that, plus the fact that you need the system, would lean towards not bothering to replace it yet.

The ZBD policy is only for the first month of owning a pc. Its really up to you if it bothers you replace it. But most screens are perfect so i wouldnt worry about getting another dead pixel.

Usually replacement screens are tested and should be fine.

The only reason, I can think of, as to why a lot of people end up with crap screens when they purchase a laptop is because the screens already on the laptops when purchased have been in storage for a while and not turned on. Not to forget transportation from the company that put the laptop together to the retailer.

    Damage does occur.

I say go for it and exchange it, unless the brightdot is right in your face.

I say roll the dice and exchange it. You take the chance of getting a perfect screen compared to knowing you have a less than perfect screen. Trust me, that pixel will haunt you if you don't try and get it taken care of before your warranty expires.
