wanted to wait til I saw the Sony SZ to decide - saw it today and was dissapointed - now trying to decide on V6va vs V6j - don't use a desktop, its my primary computer - games aren't a big deal although a certain RC flight sim program requires higher end graphics, and I do some CAD work ect

travel a lot which makes W3 attractive because of size/weight but I think the performance of V6 will offset the small extra weight

    thoughts?

if I'm not mistaken, I think the W3 is more performance minded with the x1600 on the w3 (and the bigger screen) vs the 7400 on the V6

another question, how come the v6 is cheaper than the w3? (napa series) is it lighter or something?

Where did you see that it's cheaper? The W3J is $100 cheaper than the V6J...

I meant the other way around, How come the W3J is cheaper than the V6J seeing as it has a more powerful graphics card

i think its because v6j is thinner and still pack whole lots of power and weight less than w3j

the v6j has a bigger screen which I assume is the difference in price - I think they are inetnded for diff purposes - W3 is portability while still a good gamer - while V6 straddles categories - good performance, bigger screen yet lightweight and a cool design - a desktop replacement thats still thin and light (relatively)- V6 is slightly heavier than W3 (about a pound??)

They weight around the same. I think w3v is around 5.5lb and 5.2lb for v6va. So expect the same for w3j and v6j

think you can naybe use a travelers drawer for W3 instead of optical - maybe thats what I was remembering?

it would be nice - since many will use as desktop replacement - if there was a dock station for V6?

Where did you guys find all this information?? I've been going to ProPortable.com and all they have are the existing models, and the Asus US page... is there a website you guys go to get info like the new model schedule for release? and to look up the states?? Cause the more I read the more I like Asus's laptop and I might want to get one from Taiwan, but since I'm spending that much I like to get the best and latest if possible.

So do you guys have a link where I can go to check it out?

    No links or "underground info"...
Most of this stuff has been out for a while.
The only ETA's that are anywhere near beleivable are for the Z62F/J [early March] and Z35F [late March].
Any other info/ETA is pretty much useless...
