Press the Num Lock key? It looks as if you have enabled the embedded numeric keypad.

FN+Ins didn't do anything? Hmmm, perhaps the keyboard needs to be reseated but I doubt thats the issue.
-
I tried pressing the function + Ins and still nothing.
CAn I change the driver I will give an example I press the home key and it delete
It seems that this is happening only on my upper keys and not my bottom keys.
this is seriously infuriating!
I already pushed on ctrl thinking that my keyb is stuck but nothing!
I have to delete all the extra characters each time I type. -
could this be a virus?
-
is it inputing extra characters? try changing the language of the keyboard....that might do something...if using a different language works...then probably your language file got corrupted. which OS are you using? it could be a virus...but i highly doubt it.

use the restore feature. restore to a checkpoint earlier then the last game you play when the keyboard was working

it sure looks like that however that typically does not happen unless there was a spill. It is possible and likely but first rule out soft defect by simply using system restore.
-
I really appreciate this help. I tried a system restore but that didn't help either.
I'm really peeved about this.
If I buy a usb keyb couldn't I be able to determine if it was a software issue that way.
As it stands I can't even go to my bios because the password I have uses some of the screwed up buttons! -

which model is it? if i were you i would take the keyboard off. remove the cable. slap it up a bit then put it all back together.
-
It may be the keyboard itself. I remeber when i got my old Laptop fixed. At a store they opened it up and took out the battery in the mobo to reset BIOS (because I didnt have the knowledge then to open a laptop). Two days after i got it back and almost the same thing happened. I called them and i was about to bring it there the next day. Well, i wanted to just get my data off it before i brought it back, turned it on, it was somehow fixed.... i dont know. Obviosly, you didnt open your up but just sharing experiences.

Testing with an external USB keryboard is a good idea. If that keyboard works fine, the issue would appear to be a hardware problem with the built-in keyboard. If you're still under warranty, and there wasn't a liquid spill that caused this, you should be able to get the keyboard replaced.
-
did you spill some conducting fluids into your keyboard?
happened to me once
-
Well I spen 16 bucks on a new P.O.S usb keyboard and it works therefore my built in keyboard is the culprit.
I guess I could open her up to see what's going on... About me spilling stuff on... I may have spilled a drop of tea on the keyboard. It's hard for me to tell since i didn't notice any pools of liquid.
Still Thanks for all the help. -
-
I had the same with my old Z99H, the only solution was reinstall windows...
-
I had a similar problem with my Toshiba A105 when I spilt Coke in the keyboard...
Even a replacement keyboard did not fix it, USB keyboard worked fine, problem was in Vista, XP, Ubuntu...
Not to ruin your day but you might be looking at having to replace the motherboard too. -
Replace my motherboard? why? My laptop (asus g1s) works fine. It's just my keyboard that is screwed up. For now, I'm using a usb keyboard that does the job. I may look into fixing this keyboard issue myself but that will have to wait till I finished my semester. Who knows this issues could resolve on it's own
-
If it was a spot of tea without sugar in it you might try the old hair dryer routine.
-
A small amount of liquid damage to the keyboard shouldn't require a new motherboard, especially since the system shows no other symptoms except for just the mistyped letters. If it is just a defective keyboard, which is what I suspect, you should be able to buy a replacement and swap that out yourself with very little effort. It sounds like you've got a plan for now, and I'd stick with it. Use the USB till you have time to address the internal keyboard problem.
