Hi all, I am experiencing very, very slow file transfer speeds when trying to move files from my laptop to my Western Digital external hard drive. Average transfer speeds are 1MB/s. A 2.0 gb movie file takes 25 Minutes to transfer. However, when moving files from my C disk to the D disk there are no problems. Transfer speeds are 20-30 MB/s. I even tested the hard drive on my cousin's HP notebook and my dad's Asus UL30V notebook, and no problems. I've been told there might be a problem with my Anti virus, but I uninstalled both programs(avast! free and AVG free) and the problem still persists. My laptop says I have an Intel(R) ICH9 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 293C, so I should be running 2.0 speeds, but I'm not. Im pretty frustrated about this, can anyone help? Here are some specs. My notebook is an Asus UL80VT, purchased in Feb 2010, running Windows 7 64-bit, 4.0GB ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Rizzo26 welcome to the forum, one thing to try is this:
How to Optimize a Flash Drive | eHow.com -
I quickly tried this method for my 8gb verbatim flash drive and did not notice any change. I will try it on my hard drive soon, but in the meant time any other thoughts?
Thanks -
The method stated above did not help.
