I got Asus W3J installed with Windows Vista Premium, everything works perfectly but I got one issue right on my battery. When I try boot using my battery its very slow, the boot time is around 3 minutes before I can browse the net, sometime it gets frozen, windows explorer and startup programs are not responding. Is this normal? because on AC plugged everything works fine. By the way I'm using ATI 7.1 and NHC for vista. Is there a way to fix this? I tried to boot on safe mode using battery and its ok, boot times is same as it is plugged in. I tried reinstalling my video drivers etc. but nothing happens.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Does Vista have different cpu freq settings for battery and AC in your regular boot mode? This could be an easy explanation for the difference you're seeing, and the fact that it doesn't replicate when doing a safe boot.

I agree it sounds like the CPU is being throttled down. Make sure you dont have any power management programs starting up to check, then make sure your power managent software is configured correct to start up normally then reduce CPU speed.
Very slow boot on battery - W3J on Vista
