    Hi all,

I'm having a really weird issue that I can't find a solution to
Currently im running on Vista Business and up till now, i haven't had any problems

Just yesterday I let windows do an automatic update and with it, it installed 4 new "security" updates

after the reboot i noticed that EVERYTHING was reset to defaults
my desktop icons were all gone, my quick links were gone, and everytime i opened a program, it was like i was opening it for the first time

the weirdest part was when my msn messenger GROUPS were ALSO reset!
somehow ALL my contacts were moved to "other contacts" and i had to MANUALLY move everyone back into groups...it was pretty annoying

i thought this was a one time thing

but this morning when i booted up again, SAME ISSUE
except this time only my desktop icons are missing

i was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and if there's a solution becuase ive searched all over the net and can't find a thing

microsoft hasnt been of any help. go figure

    anyways, thanks in advance

    cheers
