Hi,
I'm running my ASUS W3V 1.8Ghz 1GB Ram on Windows Vista Ultimate and I have RMClock installed.
I have my Performance on Demand set to switch through steps from 800mhz all the way up to 1.8ghz.
When ever my clock is running at 800mhz to say maybe 1.3ghz, the music I play using Winamp or iTunes gets choppy.
This never used to happen when I was using Win XP and NHC.
I never used RMClock in WinXP so I don't know if this is a Vista Problem or an RMClock problem, but I'm guessing Vista...
So... Is anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas? My only fix so far is to set my computer to max performance when watching video or music... sigh![]()
thanks for any help

Vista is a bit different from XP, and supports directly controllable SpeedStep options as covered in this page. I don't use Vista yet, but I imagine that RMClock and Vista would fight over controlling the processor states constantly if both were enabled, possibly causing your problem. This does not happen in Windows XP.
The fact that Vista has controllable states doesn't mean RMClock is useless though, because Vista does not allow control over voltage. So, if you'd like to use RMClock at the moment, it might be best to set your computer to max performance all the time and let RMClock handle the CPU clocking/voltage duties, while manually setting up timeouts for suspend/shutting down of the display, HD, etc.
Note that the RMClock developers don't fully support Vista yet. The latest beta is here, and it is still not fully there yet.
