Hello everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've installed vista ultimate and i've got everything working but the hotkeys (for volume.... etc) I really liked how it used to have little icons that showed up when i increased/decreased volume. I cannot get the touchpad to work despite installing the drivers that are supposed to be for 32/64 bit platform. Also, and I think this is causing the problem with vista not recognizing my touchpad. I have no power lights (the lights at the front of the laptop). None of these lights have worked since i've installed it. If there is something I am missing can someone please advise. I've installed all the vista drivers from the asus website but if there is a specific one that someone knows that I'm missing can you please advise. I know there has to be people that have done clean installs of vista ultimate on this laptop so if you could please help it would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Vista 64-bit will only run signed drivers. It's possible those drivers have not been digitally signed by WHQL (Microsoft).

i believe that this is the little icons that will pop out in the middle of the scren. Not sure if i got the name of the app right.

Refer to this page for more information. (i got all my drivers from there for my Business x64) Notebook in specs. And it should be pretty similar to the G1. -
I've now gone and installed windows xp and I'm still having the exact same problem. The touchpad still does not even show up in device manager. Has anyone else had this problem after doing a clean format? What did you have to do to get the touchpad to be recognized or was it just there after the install and you just had to reinstall the drivers? I'm thinking i'm going to have to try tech support as it doesn't seem there is an answer on these forums and I can't find anything else about this issue.
