I will be getting my g1s within the next week. I am going to dual boot vista and xp pro. I already made a custom xp cd with sata drivers. I also have a vista ultimate 32bit disk that I get free at college.

should I get xp to dual boot with vista home premium first, and then upgrade it to ultimate, or should I upgrade it to ultimate when I first it, then dual boot xp afterwards?

Dont upgrade...clean boot Ultimate and then dual boot to the inferior OS (XP)

Install XP on a partition, then install Vista on another partition. I'm not really an expert about this but here's my experiance.

The computer will take the newest installation by default to boot. If you install XP, then Vista, it will boot vista. Vista will recognize the XP installation and will give you the choice of "MS Windows Vista or Earlier Version of MS Windows" at a boot screen. You can adjust that in vista's control panels.

However, if you install XP second, windows XP won't recognize the Vista installation, thus directly booting XP. I did try to adjust that but it didn't want to. I'm pretty sure someone here knows though

how do I go about doing that without losing the G1S drivers that come on the computer with vista home premium?

edit: Format your drive, install Windows XP, after that install clean version of Vista Ultimate (without formatting your HDD during installation this time)

well it lists either vista 32 bit or ALL OS. The ultimate I have is 32 bit so that should work right?

I have G1S with Vista Home Premium installed and wanted to upgrade to Ultimate. Is there a reason why I shouldn't upgrade?
