I am currently running the Vista RCI build 5728 but after "upgrading" from the first RC1 release my V6J will no longer make a sound. Vista shows I have a "High Definition Audio Device" and reports that it is working correctly (which it is not) and I have tried everything from uninstalling and having Vista reinstall (same results). I have tried to load the audio driver that came with the computer but it reports that it is for a different operating system so I tried to force it to load using the new program compatabilty feature in the new build but that didn't work.

Could someone running Vista PLEASE check their control panel and find out what it says and what drivers they are using. I have tried for a week to find solutions to this problem.

Other than that Vista really kicks ass...I love it!

    Thanks!

Have you tried drivers directly from realtek? i believe the v6j and z96j have either similar or identical sound cards. personally had no problems with the sound on the 96j
