Hey guys I have yet another thread lol. I was wondering if any of you have experienced a long hang when booting up Vista. I'm still trying to figure out what's causing it.. But it seems to happen while the Wireless internet is initializing. It's also followed by a screen flash, so it might be gpu related as well.

It's nothing serious, but it is annoying to wait an extra 5-10 seconds until Vista is usable.

I'm not sure what it is, but mine is also doing the same thing. Vista loads and I see the desktop, then it continues accessing the hard drive. Then after 5-10 seconds, the screen flashes and the "eyeball" turns off (I disabled touchpad, since I use the mx518 :) ) Then I know the computer is done booting totally. I think the first time you see the desktop, vista is not totally done loading all the drivers and stuff, so after the screen refreshes, I think that is when it is done the booting process.

Well good to know I'm not the only one. I've had two G1S's and they both had it, but you never know, especially with my luck lol.

Hopefully someone can figure out exactly what causes it. I'm pretty sure it's a Vista service (or driver as you said). I'm confident it has something to do with the GPU drivers though. But disabling the nVidia services didn't seem to correct it.

My G1S does the same thing. It did it on the original install of Vista that came with the computer and it does it on my current Vista Ultimate 64-bit install. Can anyone say whether other Vista-running machines do the same thing?
