Hi all. Got my A8Js saturday, and its growing on me even if I have some complains. Installed Vista on the 2nd partition. Build 5840, pre RTM, not RTM. I installed the nVidia 96.85 drivers at: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11477

Vista, Aero works very well. Not as quick as XP but very quick and smooth. Google Earth also works excellent. BUT my games do not work:
    - Half Life 2 has artifacts all over, surfaces without textures or flashing, etc.
    - Prices of Persia Arena of Time: menu partly not showing, program with tons of artifacts, very bad performance.
    - Doom 3, buggie, black screen when entering level, Alt Tab results in distorted screen (a fourth of viewing area shown, etc).
    - Far Cry performing very bad, crashing.

As you see, not much working in the 3D part.

Any suggestions on this, anyone has their games working under Vista and the A8Js? Or stuff just not ready yet as OS is still not out on the market fully - I have to wait for nVidia to finish their stuff.

    Thanks,

    Juan Miguel Venturello

I would suggest waiting for Nvidia to fullly complete everything to have their products 100% compatable with Vista.

PS: I would only recommend people using laptop just to test Vista RC2 for a period of time, other than that, just stick with XP untill Vista is released.

Thanks MilestonePC. That's what I am doing, and the reason why I installed it on the second partition by itself. Just wondering if there was a quick fix so I could use this OS more.
