Ok, i'm not sure where this question of the problem goes...but i think i'll ask here.

Basically my volume icon just disappeared without a trace. When i go over to the control panel -> sound and audio devices property ->volume tab, and place the checkbox against "place audio icon in the taskbar", this error message comes out.

"Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the Volume Control program has not been installed. To install it,use the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel"

I still have my sound. This is the problem thats bugging me because i cannot control the Wave output, only the Volume.

    Thanks in advance!

you might have to go into adding and removing windows components instead of adding and removing programs
