hello all......
tried looking but couldn't find enough to my surprise....
my w2j temps are as follows:
cpu: 50-57c , i don't game much and haven't really loaded up the comp yet (i.e. no prime, folding, etc....)
hdd: 35-40c
are these dangerous/respectable/reasonable/etc....i come from the world of
desktop modding some am quite clueless as to how these numbers stack up......
and another thing, i think i have heard my fan about twice in 4 months.....haha.....does the w2j, and most laptops i suppose, have non-fan cooled cpus? i.e. heatsink to some form of heat disspation system?
thanks for any help.....and another thing, how do you asus guys dust out the comp? i am referring to the inside of the computer......if anyone even does that.....

those temps are the average. just make shure you dont get your cpu to 70c and it will be alright.

W2J is a nice laptop, if your CPU idle temp is 50 and under load it 57, that's very good. You will also want to get your GPU temp too.
Most HD temps are around that range, 35-40, which is nice.
If you want to drop the temps a little more, i would suggest undervolting at higher speeds, but this is not needed since you seem very happy with what you have.
The W2J is not a fanless laptop, we wish it was, but the fan does spin at lower RPM thus you will not hear it, the only time when you will hear it is when it spins up really fast. Usually this is for short periods of time.
As your laptop gets older, watch the temps, if they are slowing rising, you will then know your vents are being clogged by dust, lint, hair and you will need to clean them out, to maximize cooling again.
Enjoy your W2J!
