W2JB w/wsxga+: foward message from PROportable.. THANKS DUDE!

hope u dont mind PRO, but i know theres alotta people wishing for a w2jb with wsxga and many like me are ready to go for it with just the wxga.. so something to keep ur heads up for guys

That's ok... but I think people would have seen it in your other post.... If you've noticed lately there's been almost about 3x the amount of new threads a day and a LOT of it is just clutter.... Not to say something I said didn't need to be put in it's own thread..... but it doesn't help the clutter and makes more newbies ask the same old questions....

Anyway... I don't know if I'd take chances on this honestly.... First, this shipment of W2's needs to sell out...... and that's going to be difficult. The way I see it, Asus needs to see that this model isn't going to sell well, but on the reverse, if it doesn't sell well, it'll take longer to sell out. So, I know eventually they're going to bring in the higher res screen. We've calmed down and agreed to sell the W2jb as is with two conditions... we only stock a handful and we note at the top of the product page that it has a WXGA+ screen......... We're doing it because it's still a good system for the money and the faster these sell, the sooner we'll be able to import the model we really want.

...... I think within 6 months we better have it........ It's going to take more than a month to sell what came in on the first shipment. If for some reason these sell like hotcakes.... we might be screwed... but Asus knows that we want WSXGA+ and if we're going to sell a decent amount of them, that's what we're going to need. So, it's anyone's guess, but if we didn't have to cancel out first order for W2's from Asus, they'd probably be close to sold out by now....

 

hypothetically speaking, if they were to rerelease the w2j with the WSXGA+ screen in the future, do you think they will add/remove/fix anything (dont know if the w2jb even has any problems, cause i dont see any posts about it nor do i have it to test it out myself) to the system besides the screen? or would it just be the same w2jb with the WSXGA screen? because if not im just gonna go with the lower resolution. cheers!
