Amazing how these things get around without me saying a word. lol.
We actually took those pics about 3 weeks ago. We just posted them yesterday though. They aren't the best pics, but they give you a little taste of things to come.

New W1 shouldn't be more than $100 more than the current model. This depends on what added features they are planning on using. The tv tuner is supposedly a certainty, so that increases cost...... if they change the screen to a colorshine, the price could shoot up $200. But I fully expect the system to still be under $2,400.

As for the W2, my estimates of $2,800 a month or so ago are probably off consider the price changes Asus has recently gone through. I'd say for everything they are going to put in it, it may be around $2,600 and worth every penny....... but as John said, with this, they aren't ordered yet so configurations are still up in the air and since it's not available anywhere in the world yet on a production level, other things may change too.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Um..... well thats just about the whole computer really..... The W2 will probably have a bigger, faster hard drive and at least a gig of ram....

The big thing is really the graphics and the screen, obviously.... other than that, it's going to look similiar, but not identical. The W2 will certainly have the tv tuner, the W1 refresh may or may not, depending on where it'll put the price tag.

With all things considered, could we assume the difference between the W1 and W2 will be the screen size, graphics card, and processor. The slot DVD burner is a nice touch.

Can't say I like the design... I think it looks like a big hunk of scrap metal. Of course, there are those that would sit it on top of a crooked table and call it art.

It's a 17" notebook...... against a 17" powerbook, I'd take this any day...... and I think most people have to admit, to the worldwide audience, the powerbook is the best looking 17"........... either way they are all HUGE.... it's just how you conceal it.

If there is one person here who will certainly back me up on a new W1 coming out, it will be John (who actually already did the last time you tried to pull this). Whether or not he's heard about the screen and graphics card Asus wants to order in it isn't certain as I just found out today and he may have to ask himself to hear the same thing.

On another note..wow, you really have nothing better to do.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Missing the idiot post, I am kinda in the dark here.
However, the new W1 is coming from what I hear, as is the W2. Specs are still up in the air, as is pricing.

Don't worry, he'll be back...... still betting me that there won't be a new W1. As of yesterday I found out the desired spec on the new W1 is a colorshine screen an 128mb x700 and the digital tv tuner. Basically the W1 and W2 are going to be very similiar.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Asus hasn't denied or confirmed that..... the plain brushed aluminum was very popular, but Asus is going in a darker direction this year..... so they may make the W1 a black anondized brushed aluminum like the W3/V6/W2 are going to be...... but it's not set yet.
