    HI
My W2V stoped writing CD-R (EVERYTHiNG else works) and somtimes don't read CD-R too. Is this a common issue with MATSU****A slot loading DVD drives?

lol love the forum bad-word monitor.

The CD-R may depend on the media - some media isn't written or read well by certain recording drives. Have you tried different manufacturers of the CDR discs?

What are you using to write - a program or just drag-and-drop to the CD in Windows?

Taiyo Yudens are widely considered to be the best blanks. Might want to try uninstalling ide drivers in device manager. Windows should re-install it when re-booted. If you are using packet writing software like DLA or InCD get rid of it. It is flakey software and a known troublemaker. Generally, Panasonics are junky drives. I have personally owned two. They offer poor burn quality. ThinkPads use them as well which is why I will never have an internal burner for my ThinkPad until they offer something else. Good Luck.
