    Hello.

I own an ASUS W2V with (WXPP, W2K3)

I apologize for a possibly "silly" question, but
I really now nothing about the remote units
    and their compatibility.

Could you please tell me whether it's possible
and HOW to make work one or both of those
remote units with a mediacenter program other
    than the bundled one ?

    Which mediacenter software ?

    What about J.River Media Center 11 ?

    Thanks in advance

You're not going to get the Asus remotes, if that is what came with your unit, to work with Media Center. I'm sure they could be reprogrammed, but no one has done it so far, but their buttons are programmed for Asus Mobile Theater buttons. Also, the built-in CIR is not one that Microsoft will certify and so you need to use the USB IR that Microsoft provides with their remote.

I don't know much about anything other than Asus' Mobile Theater (which is a cyberlink power cinema product) and Microsoft's Windows XP Media Center Edition. Maybe someone else can assist on the rest of the question.

There are third party applications available to get virtually any IR remote to work with almost anything. Girder with WinLirc for example.

Such things can be a bit of a hassle to set up, though, but there are tutorials around if you google a bit. I'd suggest checking out a dedicated HTPC/AV forum if you need detailed help.
