I'm relatively new to the forums, my friend turned me onto them recently. I would have posted under the section "What Notebook Should I Buy?" but I'm pretty much deadset on an Asus, I've owned an IBM and an Apple notebook (the Apple was better than the IBM  ) and I've worked on a Dell in the past. I wasn't overly pleased with any of them, especially with the Dell. I have to admit, I'm not up to date on laptop technology (I built my last desktop over two years ago). Would the W2j run games like Battlefield 2 and World of Warcraft with ease? I'm looking for something powerful that will run games without a problem when I'm in my dorm but have a fairly long battery life when I'm out doing work or traveling (I usually don't play games on the go). I hear the core duo has outstanding battery life and power but I'd like some reassurance from the people who experience it daily. Any information or suggestions for other laptops would be helpful, thanks!

Do you mean W3j? If it is the W3j than yes, you should be able to run B2 and WOW but probably not on the highest setting. Also, you might want to consider the MacBook Pro now that it is dual-bootable since you did find your Apple better than your IBM

    Hi, welcome to the forum!

    Finally a non-W3j topic :).

I considered the W2J as well, but it's just to heavy to carry with. Especially when traveling a lot I wouldn't recommend it.

The weight is 3.4KG, which is approximately 7.5 pounds (if I am right).

However, the W2J runs the newest games with ease, as it has a fast processor, 1-2GB memory and a Radeon x1600 256MB video card.

Now I dropped the W2J, I am still considering two others:
    W1J (small version of the W2J - 15.4'' screen - , same specs, slight lighter: 3.2KG - 7 pounds.
V1J 15.4'' screen, other chasis, probably same specs, only 2.6KG (6 pounds?)

Last, from what I've read the Duo's do use more power than the Centrino's, will try to look up the source of a test I read a few weeks ago.

The big issue you have to consider is this:

    1. The V1g's ETA right now is the end of August - which means we could easily be looking at November without even blinking an eye.

    2. The W1j won't be coming to the US at all if the V1 makes it out at the end of August....... if it gets pushed back to November or so, we *may* see the W1j come over in late July / early August as a limited edition model... just to fill the 15.4" void in the models.

Either way, those two are either long off, or long shots.... no matter how you look at it.
