First, it was freezing up and sound was dropping, now, it gets no signal at all.
When you open live TV, the screen goes black for a few minutes, then turns blue saying:
Loss of Signal
Media Center has stopped capturing data due to a low data rate in the TV signal. This may be a temporary situation. If this persists, make sure the cable for the TV signal is connected properly, restart the computer, and the try tuning to a channel.
It has worked fine for a week or two but was getting worse, I have tried about everything, maybe a windows MCE update screwed it up, but if thats the case, that means I can never update my OS...
Any ideas?

later After a lengthy conversation with James at Asus, my last resort is going to be reformat and recover...again.
I will post back my results, but its looking like I will have to RMA it..dammit

pull out the tv tuner card under the laptop and see if you're still getting the errors - if not tell asus the card is shot and see if they'll do a cross ship rma for you. That's the easiest way to tell for sure... never seen one of these cards go though..

Doing it now

Yup, thats the problem, IF I take the card out, MCE works but says there is no tuner (duh). The program exits correctly and windows runs fine.
Please, please tell me how to get them to RMA a tuner for me, I shouldnt have to send the whole machine in for something that simple.
The Asus guy kept saying "update the drivers". I couldnt get him to understand that the drivers listed were older than the machine. (This one is marked 10-05 I think) All the drivers were 9-05 or older.
The BIOS on this machine is newer than the one at Asus too.
Thank you Justin for your continued help with this issue.
You gotta love the support this feller puts behind his products folks!

call asus... period.. there's no good or bad way to get one. Just tell them you've found it is the tuner and tell them why. They shouldn't give you a problem there.

*UPDATED*
Thanks to the kind folks at proportables, all I had to do was send in the tuner and a replacement was sent.
Working perfect now!
Thanks guys!
