I just got my W2v and i think the power brick Is huge for a centrino pc one. Does anyone here know of the smallest universal one that would work with the W2v?the info on the stock one is input AC 100-240v 50-60hz 130-170va
Output dc 19v 4.74a. I cant seem to find one thats small with that output voltage. anyone know what would happy if i used a less powerful one could it damage the pc?

It's big compared to the 65w bricks we've got with all of our other units (and you have with your z70v)... but those are actually small by most computers standards...... I think the W2v's brick is about the size of most other peoples notebooks....... honestly.

The w2v is a 90w I believe..... it's about 1/4 of the size of the brick that hp needs with their 17" (and that has two fans in it just to keep it cool).

Why do you want a universal... just curious? It's 90w and it's that's what the hp 17" is..... and like I said thats a lot bigger. For 90w, this is tiny.

When i said universal i just meant a different brand one that will work with it. i know its smaller than my compaq brick. But i was just curious if there were smaller ones out there because any weight shaved for when i travel with this pc the better you know.

I'm pretty positive it is a 90 watt power supply (the numbers are confusing to read, but comparing it to the 65w of the rest of the notebooks.. where it says 65, it says 90 on the W2's....... so it's a logical guess, but I'm pretty sure.

Anyway...... it's certainly the smallest 90w power supply I've ever seen... Asus is usually pretty good at keeping things small too.

Anyone with a W2v w/ Media Center - we're going to start a new thread with the pros and cons of the system...... make sure you set up media center first and get a good night of watching and recording tv on it before you comment about that side of it.....
