A very nice notebook indeed... great desktop replacement. I still think its footprint makes it unfit for everyday travel...

    good for LAN parties, though.

The W2 is seriously better looking than I had ever thought a 17" could be. And only 3.3Kg to boot. Even the S.O. would have loved that one, and she'd have killed me if I brought home a XPS^2Gen. Looking forward to getting my hands on one for more than 3 minutes.

As much as a lot of people thought the W1 gave the 15" powerbook a run for it's money.... I don't think the 17" powerbook has even a leg to stand on against the W2.... the only thing they can say is the powerbook is lighter... and we can say it's got a digital tv tuner, remote control, subwoofer, a 128mb x700 and a colorshine screen.

I would buy one if they were a little cheaper, 3000 dollar is much!

It's surely way more powerful than powerbook, but design and styling isn't there...but I guess it's a personal preference..

what? yeah personal preference i suppose but personally...this thing kills the power book on style too if you ask me. I bet if you polled non-apple heads ...a VAST majority would pick a w2v for the style award.

I don't think its even close. but no need to turn this into this looks better than that thread...but i question whether you've really "seen" the notebook ...im talking close up pictures...every angle of it....all its sleek lines... how thin it is...the alluminum everywhere.

not sure you can deny the thing style and design if you've done that. its based on the w1 ...that one won style awards...this one is going to easily do the same.
