The hard disk in my W3A is running at over 50°C(currently at 52°C and the CPU is only 45°C). OK, it is the Seagate 5400.1, but it has spent the previous 5 months in a Sony S and rarely got hotter than 40°C.

What temperatures are other people seeing?

Both the W3 and the Sony S have ventilation holes close to the HDD, but the Sony's cooling seems to be much more effective. Perhaps a downside of the W3A's slow and quiet fan is that it does not give effective cooling for the HDD.

take out the dummy disks covering the memory and PC card and u'll see a great improvment over HD temeperature, on the palm rest at least.
