    Hey all...

Well, the sound issue is something huh? For a notebook it's important to still have good quality sound which the W3 series (and any laptop in general of 14" size) doesn't offer.

So have any of you found and good speakers/cd systems to add on?

I personally found this and it looks amazing...

Looks great but haven't found many reviews of it... Would be nice for a laptop though and the price isn't bad (but isn't great either)

Looks kinda big to carry around everywhere...I'm just kidding. I think buying one of those inexpensive USB thumb drive sound cards from turtle beach is the way I'd go, that way you're all good with headphones, and you could use practically any desktop or external speaker system you want or already have. Did I mention how small and cheap they are???

I really think Asus should pay more attention to this issue though, It seems to be a pretty consistant problem...and maybe offer some alternative or solution. :)

I think that sound has been overlooked in both pcs and notebooks for quite sometime now, but I take heart that there are now some ok on-board sound chips coming out, thus with anyluck these will filter down to the laptop....especially next year when intel updates the current chipset.
I guess its just a waiting game....much like user replaceable gpus!
