Does anyone here know what controller chip does W3 series use for cardbuss and firewire (Texas Instruments, Ricoh...?)

Thanks, that would be great.
I plan to use my notebook for music production and a lot of the CardBuss or FireWire audio cards are picky about certain controller chips. Texas Instruments are usually the best ones. -

Understood - should have the answer on Monday for you. I'm pretty sure all of the notebooks are using the same firewire and cardbuss chips, but I want to make sure.
Thanks,
Justin

I just bought an ASUS V6VA20RW pro notebook.
my MAUDIO firewire solo soundcard is not supported, neither digidesign Mbox or Terratec soundcards :-(
ASUS France told me that the Ricoh controller R5C 841 is responsible of that, but say they are not responsible for the problem i have.
IN fact all sound cards that are plugged to V6V notebooks seems to be unsupported...
I did some test and it works perfecly when ACPI is desactivated.
does anyone have the same problem ??
does anyone have a R5C 841 Ricoh controller with a working soundcard on a notebook ??
