Vkyosho - lighten up.
Troll or not, it seems pretty clear from the second half of urkconsul's sentence that he meant to type seconds and typed minutes by accident.

My second statement was mistakenly typed after the first sentence. The second sentence is not assumed from the first statement. It's to depict the overall tone of his posts and the points he makes across these 6 pages. I had just noticed he probably meant seconds, but whatever.
Point still stands. -
vkyosho - no problem. I think it just bothered me that you were jumping down his throat mainly over an obvious (to me) typo, rather than factual errors.

Ok guys, we all need to calm down big time before it becomes nothing more than a personal debate. I am just browsing through this..ummm...thread and its become very personal. I agree with Justin to lock this thread, for I fear it may turn into something ugly...
Please, keep personal comments to yourself to a degree.
ukrconsol: Feel free to comment on Asus, but do realize what you are comparing with and make. For instance (car analogy) Ford mustang GT vs BMW M3. Big difference, in make, spec and so forth. I can go on, but I think we all get the picture. -

It's not so ridiculous to buy a notebook for gaming only. All my BenQ notebooks were bought for that reason and that reason only. For work, I have those crappy IBM and Dell notebooks to lend me a hand. And playing games on PC connected to a 42" Plasma/LCD TV is totally different than playing games on XBOX 360/PS2 connected to a 42" Plasma/LCD TV. I have all - PC, XBOX 360, PS2, Plasma and LCD TV - and comparing the same game on PC and on XBOX/PS2; PC gaming is way better! But it's really more personal opinion and very arguable...

personally i really wanted the benq since they had the 7000..but after talking to some benq ppl and realizing it would never make it here i decided to go with the asus..that remote might be useful if i watched dvds..as well as the dvi but the battery life of 3hrs max is a bit low and it shares the w3j's palmrest heat "issue"
itwins: thats actually the review i found when i googled for benq laptops..interesting avatar you got there -
-
dude i own one too..relax..i just meant that it gets warm as all notebooks with x1600s do
-
But seriously, that remote control is a gimmick - not useful, at least that's what I feel. When at home, I have something more technological....called a DVD Player...and it comes with AC3/DTS/THXOn business trips, the last thing I want to do is to watch DVD on a 14.1" screen, which really spoils the mood of watching the movie. You go to cinemas to watch big-screen, not TVs (that reminds me of the former Eaton Center in Toronto where we pay to watch the latest movies on ultra-small screens.
duh!)
The only good time I use the remote is when you're in a hotel and you hook up the notebook into the TV's S-Video to watch movies. -
Sorry Jterp, I just had to clarify bacaue last week I mentioned that I had a small wear mark on my hinge from where my bag was rubbing and within a few posts it became paint flaking, paint wearing, palmrest fading..... seriously it got blown way out of context, I like to be honest about flaws but you have to be carefull, its amazing what people will focus on. you get ten people saying what problem what problem, then all of a sudden you have a problem
-
heh nzwaverider thats why it was in quotes..but yeah especially on these forums small nitpicks are blown into full out panic attacks
W3J? No way!
