    Hi All,
My wireless keeps losing connection :( It only loses it for a sec or 2 then sorts itself out but It messes up my online gaming.
I have heard people say to reconfigure my wireless allowing windows to control it but I have no idea how to do this...also people have also written about re dowloading drivers etc but if the window thing works I am happy to try that!
    Any advice please :)

Did this just start happening or has it been fairly consistent through out your ownership of your W3jp? Also make sure nothing is blocking your router. I had a friend who had his router surrounded by metal filling cabinets and was wondering why his connection was not so good, turns out when he moved the router to a more open space his connection was fine. Also try unistalling and then reinstalling your wireless driver.

People tell you to let windows control it because it's "idiot proof" and anyone that doesn't know what they're doing should really use it. It doesn't mean it's going to solve your problem. Let me explain to your what your options are and what they mean.

    1. If your wireless card turns on and off - it works...
    2. If you can see the wireless router but can't connect to it - you need to upgrade your wireless card drivers....
    3. If you can't see the wireless router - you need to upgrade the firmware on the router itself.
    4. If you can see and connect to the router - you have a routing issue and should reboot your modem and router.

The drops like you're seeing would lead me to believe you should both update your wireless driver (intel.com - search for proset driver and download the one for the 3945) and perhaps the firmware on your router.

Thank-you for your replies..I need idiot-proof as I am not great with these sort of problems!!!
I will try going to intel.com and re-installing the drivers....
what happens exactly is the wireless symbol in my task bar is green...then I notice the internet has frozen or stopped working, I look down at the taskbar and the wireless symbol has gone white, followed by yellow then followed by green again and is ok...All happens for about 30 secs but that is enough for me to lose my winning hand on online poker!!!! :)

The exact same scenario has been happening to me lately, except for the bit about online poker, heh.

Think I'll try updating my drivers and firmware as well.

edit:: well updated to the lastest 3945 driver, hopefully this fixes my problem. I'll post back in a few days if it has...btw thanks the the advice Proportable.
