is anyone having problems running DOD:S on their W3J's?
it seems mine graphically crashes everytime i run in... i cant seem to close it either because it's just a frozen image, while it seems to respond to alt/tab without displaying anything besides what's frozen onscreen.

i can't seem to update the drivers for the ATI from ATI.com either...

    help please! thanks

Update your drivers using the download at this link and report back if you're still having issues.

get the new omega drivers, they are much better. I have been using them on my W3J and it plays everything. In my experience (not just what i've heard) they are much stabler.

I wish omega would update their drivers soon, and the ones from ATI (AMD) wont work for W3Js regardless of them being mobility version, unless its just mine.

When you say "won't work", do you mean they won't install or they cause crashes. If the former, try to install the drivers from the link posted above. If the latter, you may need to RMA the laptop for a new video card.

thanks, i've downloaded the link you provided and yet to test DOD.

when we say "won't work", we go through ati.com and go to mobility radeon to try and download drivers for X1600...

which leads us to download a Installation Verification Software
    (no other option is available)

when i do this, the software says:

Yea - the link through the ATI website checks for certain vendors from a list. Asus is not one of them so you have to download and install the driver directly or else you get the message above...

well i used the link provided here to update my drivers.
however, i didnt uninstall before the update... and so my DOD still froze mid-play

maybe it was because i didnt uninstall the prior drivers... not coutning on it though...

anyway, i installed omegaDrivers and DOD doesn't freeze anymore.

    all is well.

i hope other's that have this problem will learn from my laziness and uninstall all drivers before installing any new ones LOL.

btw, i uninstalled all drivers before installing Omega.

i'm not a huge fan of non-OEM anything... that's including drivers

but it's the only thing that works -_- lol
