Hey guys, this is my first post but i've been doing a bit of learning by reading heaps here.

I just received delivery of a W3J, and was putting Vista on it. I managed to install vista successfully, but I cant seem to get the hotkey buttons to work properly. Things like Splendid and Power4gear buttons doesnt register, I was wondering if there is a special procedure or sequence that i should be installing the drivers.

Oh and i got sound to work but the quick hotkey mute doesnt do anything. Even though it says muted after you press it, Vista still makes sound for some reason. Is there a way to fix this?

And 1 last question, does anyone know the dead pixel policy on the LCD for ASUS? I got 1 smack bang in the middle of the screen =( And 1 in the bottom left corner. Other than that the laptop is beautiful!

    Thanks in Advance guys

Don't expect all the drivers to work on Vista, its still beta IIRC.

As for the dead pixel policy, there is none for the W3, unless your dealer has one(which they usually don't). Only the W2, W1, V6 and M6 series have the dead pixel policy(any dead pixels = free exchange within 30 days).

    Goodluck!

Well over the Tasman here under the consumers Garantees act we can return anything sold within 7 days of purchase, and most dealers offer 14 days. You could always return it and get another one. We allow it at DSE.

ok, thanks guys. Hopefully i'll somehow get it fixed. If it was anywhere other than being right in the middle of the screen, i probably wouldnt worry about it.
Oh and with the Vista RC1, I thought other w3j owners have managed to install it and is running it successfully with the drivers working.
