Would it be a good idea to install "Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Networking - Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC" (From November 2006, placed on WindowsUpdate on 2/6/07) on my W3J? Has anyone else installed this driver?
Edit: Or would it just be better to go to the Realtek website and download the driver directly from there? (Or just not update at all; I have been having some LAN connection issues when my computer comes back from standby).

Either will do, aslong as it works fine for you in the end, then everything should be good.

I prefer the drivers from Windows Update as long as there aren't substantially newer drivers on the manufacturer's site. There are two reasons for this. First, drivers on Windows Update have been WHQL certified so are generally more stable. Second, the drivers on Windows Update don't come with unnecessary bloatware that manufacturers usually include with their software. You get just what you need and nothing more. Of course, there are exceptions, but this is generally true.
