While looking at the Asus benchmark forums over at notebookforums.com, someone with a stock W3J, stock drivers, and fresh install of XP got 100 fps during a Counter Strike Source video stress test. Using the same settings on my W3J, I received around 93 fps. This is using the latest drivers (8.1) I believe from ATI.

Is this because his is a core duo 2.0ghz and mine is a core 2 duo 1.66ghz? I also have 2 gigs and I believe he used 1. Should I be worried about the difference? Does that mean there is something wrong with my card?

    Thanks.

You are aware that the difference between 93 fps and 100 fps is imperceptible (gamers, physics doesn't lie), right?

Mate I'd put it down to your processor difference. But even so, 7fps difference is not a big deal. How many times have you tried running the video stress test?

Performance variability can come from various sources.

For instance: Different bloatware/background apps? Or by "stock" you mean both you and the baseline test were running all the ASUS bloatware? :D If so, please remove it and try again.

Either way, don't worry about it.

CPU performance can also scale performance of games even if the system consist of the same GPU.

If there was an issue with the graphics card, I would be noticing a lot more than just 7 fps right?

That's correct. 7fps is a very small difference.
