I recently decided to run the recovery disk on my W3J to clear everything all up, however half way through the windows reinstallation i get a "cyclic redundancy error" and a message telling me to clean my disks off...however my disks are perfect with no scratches or blemishes...has anyone else had this problem?

Better yet, why not hit F9 during boot... That'll take you to the hidden recovery partition - granted you didn't format your system out when you first got it. That's there so that you don't need to use the recovery discs, and it'll let you recover to one or both partitions... so in theory you could just format out your programs and windows partition and not miss a beat, even if you're on the road without your recovery discs. Those discs are meant to be kept safe and almost locked up - just in case.

ahh thanks proport however after I tried that i'm now getting hung up on the scandisk check...I leave it on over night (it seems to get stuck right as it starts) and after a few hours i get a black screen that says...

    Stop:c000021a unknown hard error
    unknown hard error

hard drive issue? I am also doing the format on only 1 of my partitions, should I try doing a total recovery?
