Hello all,
So I have just freshly installed Windows Vista on my W3J (all is working great!) and i have gotten all my files and programs on board but, something is wrong. I downloaded WinDirStat to measure how much hard drive space I have used on my 100GB HD and it reported that C: is using exactly 59.2GB. Now, I then went to my Computer and noticed that my hard drive, a 100GB HD formated to 93.1GB only has 22.8 GB left. 93.1 - 59.2 = 33.9GB of free space when my computer reports that I only have 22.8 GB of free space left....
Where are those other 11.1GB's of space? I don't know why the correct amount of free space on the hard drive is incorrect or what has caused this. WinDirStat has verified C: is only 59.2GB so what could be filling up that 11.1GBs?
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Update. When in WinDirStat I turn on the option to "Show Unknown", the missing 11.1GB of space show up as "unknown". What is this "unknown" stuff and can I get rid of it? Thanks

Solved my own problem. It was System Restore ...

why use these programs? administrative tools in control panel practically give you all of that without needing the extra junk. 100gb drive will actually give you about 8% less even before windows is installed.
W3J Disk Space Problem, Thoughts?
